Deck overview

This Sultai deck is helmed by Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer, specializing in face-down creature mechanics including Morph, Megamorph, Disguise, Manifest, and Cloak. The strategy revolves around deploying Kadena early to reduce the mana cost of the first face-down creature cast each turn to zero while drawing a card on each face-down creature entry. Flash enablers such as Leyline of Anticipation, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, and Alchemist's Refuge allow Kadena to deploy free 2/2 creatures and draw cards on opponents' turns as well. The deck disrupts opponents using uncounterable special actions on morph cards like Willbender, Stratus Dancer, and Voidmage Apprentice, while neutralizing opposing boards with Ixidron. It closes games by amassing a large board and resolving decisive overrun effects such as Triumph of the Hordes or establishing an untap lock via Brine Elemental and Vesuvan Shapeshifter.
