Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages commander Gwenom, Remorseless alongside heavy card-advantage engines like Bolas's Citadel and The One Ring to out-value opponents. Its core win condition is the compact, infinite two-card life-drain combo between Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Marauding Blight-Priest. Supported by premier black tutors including Vampiric Tutor and Beseech the Mirror, the deck assembles its pieces by Turn 5 and closes the game on Turn 6. In the intermediate turns, the deck leans into symmetric discard and edict attrition through Sheoldred, Liliana of the Veil, and Grave Pact to slow down creature-based strategies. While formidable at generating mana velocity and board suppression, the deck's reliance on non-stack creature interaction and vulnerable creature pieces requires careful timing to resolve and protect its combo finishes.
