Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Sahir, Visitor in Darkness to turn self-inflicted damage and life loss into card advantage and rapid commander growth. The mana base and permanent suite are packed with repeatable 1-life costs, such as pain lands, Bitterblossom, and Black Market Connections. These cards consistently trigger Sahir's second-resolution ability each turn to draw extra cards while stacking +1/+1 counters. The deck offsets its self-harm using lifelink equipment like Shadowspear and Basilisk Collar, alongside life-draining anchors like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. While the list lacks generic tutors and fast infinite combos, it delivers consistent card flow and scales into lethal commander attacks or massive life-drain spells like Exsanguinate.
