Deck overview

This deck executes a forced group-draw and wheel punisher strategy commanded by Kenrith, the Returned King. It establishes early symmetric draw engines like Howling Mine, Anvil of Bogardan, and Temple Bell to accelerate hand velocity across the table. Once draw engines are operational, the deck deploys punishing payoffs such as Zurzoth, Chaos Rider, Xyris, the Writhing Storm, Chasm Skulker, and Scrawling Crawler. It converts opponent draws into wide swarms of Devil and Snake tokens while draining life totals through wheel spells like Windfall and Dark Deal. Combat finishers utilize Kenrith's trample and haste buffs alongside mass clone spells like Mirrorweave and Sakashima's Will to close the game over two combat rotations. However, the deck's extreme land configuration—running 33 basic Mountains—imposes severe color friction on its non-red spells, making early fixing artifacts critical to smooth execution.
