Deck overview

This deck is a mono-green stompy strategy built around Gargos, Vicious Watcher. The game plan accelerates mana in the early turns using inexpensive ramp spells and mana creatures, deploying Gargos as early as turn four. Once on the battlefield, Gargos reduces the cost of all Hydra spells by four generic mana. This discount allows the deck to flood the board with massive, undercosted creatures like Genesis Hydra, Voracious Hydra, and Hydra Omnivore. Gargos also acts as a potent removal engine: whenever you target your own creatures with low-cost protection or pump spells like Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Blossoming Defense, Gargos fights and destroys opposing creatures. The deck maintains momentum through power-based card draw engines such as Garruk's Uprising and Rishkar's Expertise, eventually overwhelming the table through massive trample damage and power-doubling combat finishers.
