Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Sea Monster stompy and clone deck led by Runo Stromkirk // Krothuss, Lord of the Deep. The main strategy focuses on discarding or cycling massive 6+ mana value sea creatures into the graveyard, casting Runo to place them on top of the library, and transforming Runo into Krothuss on the next upkeep. Once transformed, Krothuss attacks alongside a Kraken, Leviathan, Octopus, or Serpent to create two tapped and attacking token copies. The deck leverages high-impact asymmetric board control through cards like Whelming Wave, Scourge of Fleets, and Stormtide Leviathan to clear blockers and lock down opposing combat. While the deck generates overwhelming physical power and board presence once Krothuss connects, it relies heavily on combat damage and runs limited cheap protection spells, making it vulnerable to well-timed spot removal and early aggressive pressure.
