Gisa the Glorious by 20relik

Format: Commander

Commander: Gisa, Glorious Resurrector

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-black sacrifice-reanimator deck is helmed by Gisa, Glorious Resurrector, who turns every opponent creature death into a delayed theft engine. The primary game plan is to establish a dense web of death-trigger payoffs - Zulaport Cutthroat, The Meathook Massacre, Dark Prophecy - and sacrifice outlets such as Phyrexian Altar and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician. By forcing opponents to sacrifice creatures through edicts like Fleshbag Marauder and Sheoldred's Edict, Gisa exiles those creatures and returns them on your upkeep with decayed, providing a steady stream of attackers and additional death triggers. The deck wins through incremental life drain and mass reanimation spells like Living Death and Meathook Massacre II that can wipe the board and immediately refill your side. It is a grindy, value-oriented strategy that excels in long games but lacks fast combo finishes.
