Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs Scion of Halaster with Erinis, Gloom Stalker to establish an incremental self-mill and land-recursion engine. In the early game, the deck deploys its commanders to filter draws and ramp lands directly from the graveyard into play on attack. As the graveyard fills with permanent cards and lands, the deck transitions into the midgame by deploying or reanimating high-power threats such as Demon of Death's Gate, Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar, Diamond Weapon, and Thorn Mammoth. Interaction comes in the form of flexible Golgari spot removal and asymmetric sweepers like Culling Ritual. Winning the game relies on fair combat damage, trample evasion, and attrition across multiple attack steps. While resilient against targeted attrition due to abundant recursion, the deck is vulnerable to targeted graveyard exile and fast combo strategies.
