Deck overview

This competitive Izzet Commander deck is centered around Vivi Ornitier, utilizing its noncreature spell triggers to execute blazing fast storm finishes. By enchanting Vivi with Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or pairing it with Tandem Lookout, every noncreature spell cast triggers Vivi to deal 1 damage to each opponent, which in turn draws three cards. This immediately starts an explosive chain reaction, drawing through the entire library while casting 0-mana artifacts, rituals, and cantrips to burn the whole table down in a single turn. The deck is fueled by format-ceiling fast mana (Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, Lotus Petal, Mana Vault, Sol Ring) and heavily insulated by premier free countermagic (Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, Pact of Negation). It also packs compact secondary win conditions including Quicksilver Elemental for infinite mana and the classic Underworld Breach + Brain Freeze freeze line.
