Smaugslinger by Calvin

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This Rakdos combo deck leverages Smaug the Impenetrable as both an explosive mana engine and an indestructible damage sponge, alongside classic storm win conditions. The primary game plan revolves around assembling fast mana, tutoring for Underworld Breach or Ad Nauseam, and looping spells to finish the table with Grapeshot, Exsanguinate, or Crackle with Power. Smaug accelerates this plan by converting noncombat damage from cards like Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, or Pyrohemia into massive bursts of Treasure tokens. Alternatively, the deck can bypass the commander entirely using Grinding Station and Underworld Breach lines or Jeska's Will paired with Reiterate to secure victory on early turns.
