Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Spellslinger Pillowfort build commanded by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The strategy revolves around assembling defensive pillowfort enchantments and stax pieces—such as Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, Cursed Totem, and Grand Arbiter Augustin IV—to stall aggressive opponents while establishing Y'shtola on the battlefield. Once Y'shtola is enchanted with damage-triggered draw auras like Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Helm of the Ghastlord, every noncreature spell with mana value 3 or greater triggers Y'shtola to deal 2 damage to each opponent, gain 2 life, and draw multiple cards. The deck leverages 21+ pieces of interaction, using high-impact counterspells like Rewind and Unwind to disrupt opponents and replenish resources for free. Victory is achieved through cumulative burn and infect via Phyresis, or by assembling the deterministic Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank combo, all protected under layers of countermagic, Teferi, Time Raveler, and Greater Auramancy.
