Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mono-Black Discard and Attrition strategy commanded by Tergrid, God of Fright. The deck's primary objective is to leverage dense fast mana acceleration—including Dark Ritual, Sol Ring, Mana Vault, and Chrome Mox—to deploy Tergrid on Turn 3 or 4 and immediately resolve sweeping multi-target discard or sacrifice effects such as Delirium Skeins, Mindslicer, or Liliana's Triumph. By doing so, Tergrid breaks parity completely, stealing all discarded or sacrificed permanent cards directly onto the pilot's battlefield while leaving opponents in topdeck mode with decimated resources. Auxiliary stax pieces like Winter Moon and Vexing Bauble stifle opposing recovery, while dedicated drain engines including Tinybones, Trinket Thief, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel rapidly deplete life totals over two turn cycles. While highly lethal against spell-reliant and creature strategies, the deck remains vulnerable to instant-speed removal targeting Tergrid and lacks answers to resolved enchantments.
