Commander: Witherbloom, the Balancer

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Witherbloom, the Balancer leads a Golgari token-and-creature swarm deck that uses a wide board to reduce its commander's cost and to fuel huge draw spells. The primary plan is to flood the battlefield with Saprolings, Faeries, Pests, and other tokens, then convert that mass into cards and mana through effects like Enduring Vitality, Brightcap Badger, and Rishkar's Expertise. The commander acts as a flying deathtouch finisher and a cost-reduction engine for spells, while the deck also carries a sacrifice-drain package with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Mirkwood Bats. A secondary path uses tutors and recursion to assemble a large board and finish with Preposterous Proportions, Vitalizing Wind, or Exsanguinate. The hidden commander is Protean Hulk, which can be sacrificed to fetch a pile of value creatures and drain triggers.
