Commander: Vivi Ornitier

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Izzet spellslinger deck, helmed by Vivi Ornitier, aims to incrementally drain opponents through repeated noncreature spell triggers while growing its commander into a mana engine. The primary game plan is to deploy multiple "ping" creatures such as Guttersnipe, Thermo-Alchemist, and Coruscation Mage, then chain instants and sorceries to rack up damage across the table. Vivi's activated ability converts her power into {U}/{R} each turn, accelerating later turns and enabling bigger spells like Epic Experiment or Alchemist's Gambit for an extra turn. The deck lacks compact infinite combos and relies on value accumulation, with a secondary combat route via Bulk Up and Rush of Blood to close out a game. It is intentionally budget-friendly, targeting Bracket 2-3 play, and its flexibility allows it to operate reasonably well even if Vivi is repeatedly answered.
