Format: Commander

Commander: Thranduil, the Elvenking

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

A BUG elf/value engine built around Thranduil, the Elvenking. The commander turns every Elf card in the graveyard into an activated-ability toolbox, while the legendary-elf trigger (notably with the other Thranduil and Lathril) draws two and discards one to fuel the graveyard. The main plan is an early Thranduil, a wide/tall elf board, and multiplicative +1/+1 counter effects (Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, The Earth Crystal). The compact finish is Selvala + Staff of Domination with Thranduil as the 5-power engine, ending by drawing the deck and sacrificing a huge Abomination of Llanowar to Jarad. A secondary combat plan uses Kalonian Hydra and Canopy Gargantuan to alpha-strike after one or two upkeep pumps.
