Deck overview

Vren, the Relentless leads a rat-tribal control deck that converts opponent creatures into a growing army. The main plan is to land a Rat engine (Lord Skitter, Piper, Pack Rat), then use edicts and Grave Pact/Dictate effects to make opponents sacrifice creatures, exiling them with Vren and creating tokens at each end step. Marrow-Gnawer doubles the swarm, and Karumonix adds a poison-clock threat. Secondary wins come from Pack Rat's discard-matters swarm and from Rat-anthem beats with Chronicle or Patchwork Banner. The deck is interaction-dense and can pivot between attrition and beatdown, but it is slower in goldfish situations because Vren needs opponents to have creatures, so winning depends on the more traditional Rat tribe pieces.
