Death and Taxes by WhiteStar

Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls leads a Rakdos group-slug and punisher strategy that turns incidental opponent life loss into immense card draw and commander growth. The deck applies continuous pressure through global tax and trigger pieces like Roiling Vortex, Ankh of Mishra, and Underworld Dreams, amplified by damage doublers such as Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Bloodletter of Aclazotz. It converts this sustained bleed into decisive victories using compact infinite combos like Bloodchief Ascension paired with Mindcrank, devastating single-turn burst kills with Peer into the Abyss targeting opponents alongside draw punishers, or an overwhelming assault from a massive flying commander.
