Commander: Thranduil, the Elvenking

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Sultai deck is a legendary-Elf value engine built around Thranduil, the Elvenking. The commander performs two critical roles: every Elf in the graveyard lends Thranduil its activated abilities, and every new legendary Elf on the battlefield lets him draw two, then discard one. The deck uses surveil, loot, mill, and self-discard to stock the graveyard with key mana Elves such as Woodland Weavemaster and Deathbloom Gardener, converting that setup into large bursts of mana and card flow. It wins through a wide, counter-growing Elf board finished by Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Trystan's Command, or a huge Exsanguinate, with extra turns from Kang the Conqueror and transformed Ultimecia, Time Sorceress as force multipliers. This is a midrange engine deck rather than a fast combo deck: resilient and recursive, but heavily exposed to graveyard hate.
