Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Grixis Control deck helmed by Nicol Bolas, the Ravager, combining planeswalker superfriends, reanimation packages, and continuous hand attrition. The primary strategy leverages early mana rocks to quickly set up the graveyard using cards like Buried Alive and Otherworldly Gaze, cheating decisive threats such as Archon of Cruelty and Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur into play. Concurrently, an extensive planeswalker lineup featuring multiple Bolas incarnations is accelerated through proliferation engines including Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus and Flux Channeler. The deck locks opponents out of resources using asymmetric draw denial from Narset, Parter of Veils and Notion Thief alongside Windfall, while converting discards into value through Waste Not. It finishes games through evasive combat damage, planeswalker ultimate abilities, or a large Torment of Hailfire. Its chief vulnerabilities are reliance on graveyard access, a heavy high-end mana curve, and vulnerability to fast aggressive token swarms.
