Deck overview

This Temur deck focuses on commander-centric token generation and burst combat damage led by Xyris, the Writhing Storm. The game plan accelerates mana through lands and Treasure generators during the early turns to deploy Xyris by turn 4 or 5. Once Xyris connects in combat, its triggered ability forces symmetric card draw, triggering its second ability to spawn a 1/1 green Snake token for each card drawn by opponents. The deck converts these wide token swarms into decisive table-wide finishes using damage multipliers like Shared Animosity, Impact Tremors, Goblin Bombardment, and extra combat steps with Relentless Assault. While the deck benefits from massive card velocity whenever Xyris attacks, it also feeds cards directly into opponents' hands, requiring careful timing with countermagic and protection spells such as Veil of Summer and Snakeskin Veil to guard against board sweepers and targeted removal.
