100 Dollar Budget Meren by nanashiiro

Format: Commander

Commander: Meren of Clan Nel Toth

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Meren of Clan Nel Toth is a black-green sacrifice-and-reanimator value engine. The primary plan is to fill the graveyard with Satyr Wayfinder, Buried Alive, Jarad's Orders, and Acolyte of Affliction, then use Meren and one-shot reanimation to generate recursive creature value. A secondary path is a slow attrition game with Plaguecrafter, Fleshbag Marauder, and Spore Frog. The true finisher is a Protean Hulk tutor chain: sacrifice Hulk to Altar of Dementia, search Melira, Sylvok Outcast and Lesser Masticore, and loop persists to mill the table. Protean Hulk acts as a hidden combo commander; Meren supplies repeatable recursion and experience counters but is not required for the kill.
