Deck overview

This deck is an aristocrats control and big-mana reanimator list helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on ramping aggressively into large mana pools using mana doublers like Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Lake of the Dead alongside efficient black rituals. Once the mana engine is established, it deploys free sacrifice outlets such as Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, and Warren Soultrader to exploit Avacyn's end-step recursion. By sacrificing high-impact nontoken creatures like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and Archon of Cruelty, the pilot triggers their entering and death abilities repeatedly across every player's turn cycle. This rapidly drains opponent life totals while stripping hands and boards through asymmetric attrition from Tergrid, God of Fright and Sheoldred, Whispering One. If Avacyn is answered, the deck easily pivots to mass reanimation via Living Death to seal victory.
