Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Boros Equipment Voltron strategy commanded by Bruenor Battlehammer. Bruenor provides two key advantages: he grants a scaling power boost to equipped creatures and removes the equip cost of your first equip activation each turn. This allows the deck to bypass the heavy equip costs of massive weapons like Colossus Hammer. Backed by a supporting Dwarf tribal theme, the deck uses efficient equipment tutors like Stoneforge Mystic and Steelshaper's Gift to reliably assemble lethal attackers by Turn 4 or 5. Protective equipment like Swiftfoot Boots and Champion's Helm shields your primary threat from targeted removal, while double-strike enablers like Reyav, Master Smith and Kellan, the Fae-Blooded cut the clock in half. Although the deck recovers well from creature removal because equipment stays in play, its reliance on combat makes it vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and fast combo strategies.
