Commander: Kalamax, the Stormsire

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Temur deck builds around Kalamax, the Stormsire, who copies your first instant each turn while tapped and grows with each copy. The primary plan ramps early, lands a tapped Kalamax, then uses cheap instants to generate value and assemble an infinite copy loop with Twinning Staff. Secondary paths win without Kalamax through the same loop or through storm copies from Prismari, the Inspiration, and through incremental damage from Purphoros, God of the Forge and Niv-Mizzet, Parun. Niv-Mizzet acts as a hidden commander, turning every draw and copy into damage. Kalamax is single-faced; the deck fully commits to his tap-to-copy game.
