15. Conniving Villains

Format: Commander

Commander: Madame Hydra

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 31

Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos kindred midrange strategy commanded by Madame Hydra. It converts every cast Villain spell into an evasive 2/1 menace token, turning normal curve plays into a wide, threatening board. The list integrates a heavy discard and connive package that fuels Mayhem cards, madness spells, and graveyard reanimation. Standout engines like Baron Strucker, HYDRA Overlord and Black Market Connections maintain mana velocity and hand quality while filling the graveyard with recursion targets. Explosive finishers such as Living Laser and Abomination, World Ravager allow the deck to scale its damage output rapidly in the mid-game. Free interaction spells like Deflecting Swat and Deadly Rollick protect key turns and disrupt faster opponents. While vulnerable to heavy board wipes, the deck compensates with strong recursive tools like Chainer, Nightmare Adept and Underworld Breach. Overall, the deck delivers consistent creature pressure, smooth card filtering, and potent interactive capability.
