Deck overview

Y'shtola, Night's Blessed is an Esper control/drain deck. The primary plan is to land Y'shtola early and convert every noncreature spell with mana value 3 or greater into a two-point drain against each opponent, gaining life that feeds Vito and Bloodchief Ascension. Secondary paths include Bolas's Citadel top-deck chains and an Exsanguinate finish. The commander's end-step draw condition rewards interaction and life-loss from fetches, shocks, and Black Market Connections. The Alisaie/Alphinaud partner pair in the 99 forms a hidden engine, turning the second spell of each turn into card advantage. While the deck is removal-dense and can control the table, it has no infinite combo and wins through incremental drain, making its clock slow.
