Deck overview

This Izzet deck is built around Firkraag, Cunning Instigator, combining Dragon tribal beatdown with political forced combat. The strategy focuses on ramping during the early turns, casting Firkraag on turn 4 or 5, and attacking immediately with flying threats to goad key opposing creatures. By forcing opponents to attack each other, the deck generates steady card advantage and grows Firkraag while whittling down opposing life totals. In the mid-to-late game, the deck transitions from political control to decisive aggression by deploying devastating aerial threats like Utvara Hellkite, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, and Blast-Furnace Hellkite, or casting mass goad sorceries such as Disrupt Decorum and Spectacular Showdown. It also features an infinite token combo between Ganax, Astral Hunter and Draconic Visitor. While highly effective at manipulating combat and drawing cards, the deck requires careful mana management to balance deploying expensive Dragons while holding interaction to protect against board wipes.
