Deck overview

Chatterfang, Squirrel General leads an explosive Golgari aristocrats and token swarm deck designed to build overwhelming board states and close games rapidly. The core strategy revolves around Chatterfang's passive ability, which pairs with diverse token generators—such as Peregrin Took, Black Market Connections, and Tireless Provisioner—to exponentially multiply token production with every Food, Treasure, Clue, or creature created. This expansive token army fuels both massive mana acceleration through Cryptolith Rite and Jaheira, Friend of the Forest, and decisive card advantage through engines like Skullclamp. Chatterfang also acts as a potent removal engine, sacrificing Squirrels at instant speed to control opposing creature boards. The deck closes games around Turn 5 through multiple lethal routes: an overwhelming combat assault powered by Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede, an infinite sacrifice and drain loop via Pitiless Plunderer, or an infinite token loop using Ivy Lane Denizen and Scurry Oak.
