Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Golgari swarm strategy centered on 33 copies of Relentless Rats, helmed by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The primary game plan accelerates through 2- and 3-mana ramp into Thrumming Stone. Once the artifact is in play, casting a single Rat triggers Ripple 4, cascading through the library to deploy 20 or more massive Rats in a single turn. Because the creatures lack haste, opponents have one turn cycle to find a sweeper before an overwhelming combat step closes the game on turn 7. As backup plans, the deck uses Bloodbond March and Patriarch's Bidding to recur the entire horde from the graveyard, while Marrow-Gnawer and Overwhelming Stampede provide alternate combat lethality. The deck features total redundancy in its creature base but suffers from low interaction, zero stax pieces, and a lack of protective spells to defend its board.
