Deck overview

This Meren of Clan Nel Toth deck operates as a high-synergy Golgari aristocrats and reanimator strategy with a fast, compact combo finish. The deck leverages dense one- and two-mana ramp to deploy its commander and utility engines ahead of curve. Once established, it generates asymmetric card and board advantage by looping fleshbag-style edict creatures and destruction effects through Meren's end-step reanimation trigger. While it can grind down creature-centric tables through Grave Pact and persistent attrition, its primary win condition centers on a Protean Hulk chain. By finding and sacrificing Protean Hulk via tutors like Natural Order or Entomb with Reanimate, the deck tutors Phyrexian Delver, Carrion Feeder, Mikaeus the Unhallowed, and Walking Ballista to execute an infinite damage loop. Redundant sacrifice outlets and backup lines such as Warren Soultrader with Gravecrawler ensure strong operational resilience and quick recovery against targeted removal.
