Deck overview

Zask, Skittering Swarmlord leads a Golgari kindred deck focused on Insects, self-mill, and graveyard recursion. The deck uses early land ramp and mill enablers to stock the graveyard with lands and creature spells. Once Zask enters the battlefield, the graveyard functions as a second hand, enabling repeated land plays and recursive creature casting. Token generators such as Scute Swarm, Izoni, Thousand-Eyed, Crawling Infestation, and Hornet Queen quickly establish a wide board presence. The deck converts this swarm into a decisive victory using powerful kindred anthems like Coat of Arms and Door of Destinies, or overrun effects like Return of the Wildspeaker and Song of Freyalise. Additional reach is provided by Syr Konrad, the Grim, draining opponents whenever creatures enter or leave the graveyard. While highly resilient against targeted removal, the deck requires careful play to navigate mass graveyard exile and sweeping board wipes.
