"Our" Commanders

Format: Commander

Commander: Garland, Royal Kidnapper

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

The deck is a Dimir theft-and-monarch build centered on Garland, Royal Kidnapper. The plan is to make opponents the monarch, steal their creatures for as long as they hold the title, and pump those stolen creatures +2/+2 while making them invulnerable to sacrifice. Secondary engines use goad (Coercive Impetus, Kang Dynasty) to force opponents to attack each other, while blink effects (Thassa, Conjurer's Closet) re-trigger Garland and other ETB stealers. The deck wins through combat, usually by accumulating an army of stolen threats, then using Rogue's Passage or Aqueous Form to make a large creature unblockable. There is no infinite combo; the game plan is incremental, controlling the board, grinding cards, and assassinating opponents one by one.
