Ral by alxTrickster

Format: Commander

Commander: Ral, Monsoon Mage // Ral, Leyline Prodigy

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Ral, Monsoon Mage pilots a high-octane Izzet storm deck that aims to close games from turn three onward. The front side discounts every instant and sorcery by {1}, turning the ritual-heavy chains (Rite of Flame, Pyretic Ritual, Seething Song) into absurd mana generation, while its coin-flip trigger transforms Ral into Ral, Leyline Prodigy - a planeswalker that extends the discount, draws cards, and ultimates into a free-cast storm finale. Backing the commander are premier storm tools: Underworld Breach plus Lion's Eye Diamond and Brain Freeze/Grapeshot, Reiterate buyback loops into infinite mana, and Past in Flames with wheels for graveyard-fueled storm turns. Fast mana and an average mana value of 2.04 let the deck threaten very early kills, while eight counterspells and free interaction protect the kill turn. The mana base is deliberately shaved to 22 lands and the plan is heavily graveyard-centric, making this a glass-cannon combo deck with an impressively short clock.
