Deck overview

This deck is a classic Gruul Landfall strategy led by Tannuk, Memorial Ensign. The plan revolves around accelerating mana production through extra land plays and fetchland triggers, using Tannuk to deal chip damage and maintain a steady stream of cards. Once the mana base expands, the deck transitions into massive threat deployment on turn 5 with heavy hitters like Avenger of Zendikar, Omnath, Locus of Rage, Scute Swarm, and Moraug, Fury of Akoum. These threats quickly generate wide token boards that scale exponentially with every additional land played. While the deck possesses explosive mana velocity and resilient recursive tools such as Conduit of Worlds and Aftermath Analyst, its reliance on wide creature boards leaves it open to sweepers. It compensates with high redundancy and targeted protection spells, aiming to close out the table by turn 7 through overwhelming combat damage and burn.
