Deck overview

This Golgari deck combines classic Elfball swarming and explosive mana generation with a potent -1/-1 counter attrition engine led by High Perfect Morcant. In the opening turns, low-cost mana dorks such as Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid, and Circle of Dreams Druid accelerate development. Casting Morcant turns every subsequent Elf entry into a blight trigger that places -1/-1 counters on opposing creatures, which can be proliferated each turn. Card draw engines like Generous Patron, Beast Whisperer, and Skullclamp maintain high card velocity. The deck closes games around Turn 5 by doubling its Elf count with Elven Ambush or Elvish Promenade and executing a decisive overrun via Craterhoof Behemoth or Triumph of the Hordes. Alternatively, pairing Morcant with Maha, Its Feathers Night completely wipes opposing boards.
