Deck overview

This deck is a classic Golgari Aristocrats build centered on Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest. The strategy revolves around generating creature and artifact fodder, deploying symmetric sacrifice effects, and turning every sacrificed permanent into widespread +1/+1 counters across your board. Support pieces like Bastion of Remembrance provide incidental drain, while creatures like Duskshell Crawler ensure that heavily buffed creatures can push lethal combat damage past blockers. The deck features strong recursion tools such as Victimize, Dread Return, and Honest Rutstein to grind out opponents in prolonged games. While the deck lacks fast combo lines and dedicated stax pieces, it excels at attrition through cards like Braids, Cabal Minion and Priest of Forgotten Gods. Its primary limitation is a lack of tutors and instant-speed plan protection, making it reliant on fair draws and somewhat vulnerable to well-timed board wipes before Mazirek can close the game.
