Landfall Abzan by user2355844

Format: Commander

Commander: Thalia and The Gitrog Monster

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Thalia and The Gitrog Monster is an Abzan lands-matter deck that uses its commander as both a ramp/stax engine and a card-draw outlet. The main plan is to chain extra land drops into landfall payoffs-Rampaging Baloths, Mole Man, Retreat to Hagra, Lotus Cobra-then finish with a wide/tall board. The 99 also contains a self-contained Dark Depths package (Vampire Hexmage, Aether Snap, Thespian's Stage) that can produce Marit Lage. Recursion from World Shaper, Aftermath Analyst, Ramunap Excavator, and Conduit of Worlds lets the deck replay lands after wipes. The 99's The Gitrog Monster acts as a hidden engine, turning sacrificed lands into card draw.
