Deck overview

This deck utilizes the Rulebreaker commander Maular, the Next Evolution to field the format's most devastating 7+ mana value creatures regardless of color identity. A dense ramp package anchored by green mana dorks and land searchers accelerates the game plan, enabling reliable deployment of 7-mana threats by Turn 5. Once on the battlefield, Maular doubles the power and toughness of any attacking 7+ drop, turning 10/10s into 20/20 combat juggernauts that threaten rapid commander damage eliminations. The 99 functions with exceptional independence; standalone bombs like Etali, Primal Conqueror, Apex Devastator, Maelstrom Wanderer, and Hullbreaker Horror provide overwhelming value and pressure even without the commander. While the deck possesses explosive damage output and robust resilience against single-target removal via free interaction like Not of This World, it relies heavily on combat steps across multiple turn cycles to close out games, making it susceptible to well-timed board wipes and heavy creature interaction.
