Commander: The Infamous Cruelclaw

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 36

Deck overview

This deck leverages The Infamous Cruelclaw as an explosive commander engine designed to cheat monstrous 6- to 13-mana threats into play ahead of curve. By casting Cruelclaw on Turn 3 and attacking on Turn 4 with built-in menace or unblockable equipment, every combat connection exiles cards until hitting a nonland spell and casts it for the sole cost of discarding a card. The 99 is densely packed with format-warping Eldrazi titans, demonic powerhouses, and asymmetric board wipes, including Portal to Phyrexia, Rise of the Eldrazi, Breach the Multiverse, and Archon of Cruelty. Topdeck manipulation from Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack, and Vampiric Tutor ensures optimal hits, while Squee, Goblin Nabob provides repeatable discard fodder. If Cruelclaw is disrupted, an autonomous reanimation package featuring Animate Dead, Necromancy, and Incarnation Technique swiftly resurrects discarded behemoths, maintaining unrelenting pressure across the table.
