Deck overview

This deck is a high-power mono-black stax and combo build commanded by Maha, Its Feathers Night. Maha passively reduces all opposing creatures' base toughness to 1, turning static -1/-1 effects like Night of Souls' Betrayal, Pestilence, and Massacre Wurm into asymmetric, one-sided creature lockouts. Fast mana artifacts (Mana Vault, Chrome Mox, Sol Ring) and dark rituals accelerate mana development into devastating stax pieces such as Null Rod, Trinisphere, and Opposition Agent to strangle opposing resources. The deck converts its resource dominance into quick finishes through compact combos, primarily Bolas's Citadel with Sensei's Divining Top and Aetherflux Reservoir, or Bloodchief Ascension with Mindcrank. Powerful card engines like Necropotence and The One Ring ensure consistent gas, while reanimation spells provide resilient recovery against interaction.
