Deck overview

This deck is an Esper lifegain and spellslinger attrition build commanded by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The strategy focuses on establishing early mana rocks to cast Y'shtola on turn 3, followed by a sequence of noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater to simultaneously burn the entire table, gain life, and trigger end-step card advantage. Over the midgame, the deck layers redundant lifegain-to-damage converters such as Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, and Marauding Blight-Priest alongside disruptive utility. While it possesses an instant-win two-card infinite combo in Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond, the complete absence of tutors means it primarily grinds out opponents through compounding life swings and massive late-game finishers like Debt to the Deathless and Exsanguinate. A robust suite of Esper interaction protects the engine while controlling opposing threats.
