Format: Commander

Commander: Thranduil, the Elvenking

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Sultai Elfball combo deck built around Thranduil, the Elvenking's graveyard-copy ability. The core plan is to fill the graveyard with key Elves - via Buried Alive, Entomb, Jarad's Orders, and incidental mill - then cast Thranduil, who gains every activated ability of those Elves and becomes an untap-and-generate engine. With Devoted Druid, Priest of Titania, or Marwyn, the Nurturer in the yard plus any untapper (Seeker of Skybreak, Wirewood Lodge, Freed from the Real), the commander produces infinite mana, which converts to a win through Staff of Domination (draw the deck), Umbral Mantle (infinite power), Ezuri, Renegade Leader's overrun, Lathril, Blade of the Elves' drain, or Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord's fling. A dense tutor package (Fauna Shaman, Birthing Pod, Prime Speaker Vannifar) provides redundancy, while a strong Elf beatdown axis backs up the combo.
