Deck overview

This is an Esper token-value deck built around Marneus Calgar, whose ability turns every token entering the battlefield into a card draw. The deck generates a steady stream of tokens through squad creatures, enchantments like Song of the Worldsoul and Defenders of Humanity, and combat triggers such as Inquisitorial Rosette. It converts that board presence into life-drain wins via Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, while also using anthems and board wipes to press combat advantage. The commander's draw engine keeps the hand full, and the deck can pivot between a go-wide combat finish and a slower combo kill using Ashnod's Altar + a drain outlet. The mana base is functional but slow, and the tutor suite is nearly nonexistent, making the deck reliant on raw card quantity to find its key pieces.
