Deck overview

This Golgari Commander deck is an Elfball swarm strategy led by Lathril, Blade of the Elves. The primary game plan develops a critical mass of Elf creatures through low-cost creatures, token doublers like Elven Ambush and Wolverine Riders, and Lathril's combat damage trigger. Once 10 or more Elves occupy the board, the deck threatens lethal pressure along two axes: draining each opponent for 10 life per turn with Lathril's activated ability, or overrunning defenses with team-wide pump effects from Ezuri, Renegade Leader, Allosaurus Shepherd, and End-Raze Forerunners. Mana generation scales rapidly with specialized mana dorks like Elvish Archdruid and Wirewood Channeler. While the deck recovers well from board wipes using cards like Haunting Voyage and redundant lords, its reliance on committed creature boards leaves it vulnerable to well-timed sweepers and instant-speed removal before it reaches critical mass.
