Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Mono-Black Reanimator and Aristocrats strategy led by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The game plan focuses on accelerating mana, filling the graveyard, and reanimating high-impact creatures such as Archon of Cruelty, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. It controls the board by pairing sacrifice effects—such as Plaguecrafter, Accursed Marauder, and Grave Pact—with free sacrifice outlets like Warren Soultrader and Ashnod's Altar. Once cast, Avacyn, Angel of Horror returns all sacrificed nontoken creatures at the end of each turn, creating an oppressive recursion engine that strips opposing hands and boards. The deck closes games through explosive life-drain triggers, big mana generation from Cabal Coffers and Lake of the Dead, a massive Living Death, or a lethal Torment of Hailfire. Universal tutors and redundant recursion provide exceptional consistency and resilience against disruption.
