Deck overview

This Abzan deck focuses on a combat strategy centered on Doran, the Siege Tower, turning high-toughness utility creatures into potent offensive beaters. By replacing power with toughness for combat damage, early creatures like Great Forest Druid and Fanatic of Rhonas immediately become dangerous attackers alongside the commander on turn 3. The deck accelerates its mana base with dense land ramp and forest-synergy engines to deploy massive threats like Dauntless Dourbark, Ghalta the Immovable, Jumbo Cactuar, and Avenger of Zendikar. Asymmetric tools like Slaughter the Strong decimate opponents' boards while leaving high-toughness creatures completely unharmed. Continuous card advantage from engines such as Abzan Beastmaster, Sinister Gnarlbark, and Six maintains gas into the mid-game. The deck finishes games through overwhelming trample damage from Primal Rage and massive alpha strikes supported by Timber Protector and Sapling Nursery.
