Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black monarch-control deck helmed by Starscream, Power Hungry // Starscream, Seeker Leader. The deck aims to establish the monarch early, then leverage the commander's front-side ability-whenever you draw a card while you're the monarch, target opponent loses 2 life-to burn the table out with mass draw spells. A dense package of symmetrical draw punishers (Underworld Dreams, Fate Unraveler, Scrawling Crawler) and incremental life-loss effects (Court of Ambition, Garrulous Sycophant) provide a secondary attrition plan. The primary explosion is Peer into the Abyss, drawing half your deck while the commander and Psychosis Crawler convert each card into lethal damage. The back side of the commander (vehicle with haste) allows you to become monarch as early as turn three, then flip to the front side for the payoff. The deck is extremely linear, with no tutors and few interactive options, making it a high-variance glass cannon that either wins in a single turn or grinds slowly.
