Deck overview

This deck is a Jund -1/-1 counter attrition engine led by The Reaper, King No More. The primary strategy focuses on distributing -1/-1 counters across the battlefield to shrink opposing armies, trigger death abilities, and steal dying enemy creatures. Early turns establish mana acceleration using artifacts and mana creatures like Ignoble Hierarch and Channeler Initiate. In the mid-game, the deck deploys synergistic engines such as Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, and Blowfly Infestation to create a self-sustaining loop of token generation and card advantage. Mass counter distributors like Carnifex Demon, Midnight Banshee, and Archfiend of Ifnir continuously suppress opposing boards, while Kulrath Knight locks down opposing combat entirely. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through wide combat swings with stolen creatures, infect pressure from Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, and direct life loss from Massacre Wurm, Lasting Tarfire, and All Will Be One.
