Deck overview

This deck is an Esper control and cheat deck centered on Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign. By combining library manipulation with a heavy curve of odd-mana-value spells, it bypasses high casting costs to cheat game-ending permanents directly onto the battlefield. The early game focuses on deploying fixing, light ramp, and topdeck setup engines such as Sensei's Divining Top and Brainstorm. Once Yennett attacks, she cheats massive threats like Void Winnower, Toxrill, the Corrosive, and Valgavoth, Terror Eater into play. These permanents simultaneously dismantle opposing resources and establish an insurmountable combat clock. The deck backs up this strategy with targeted removal, asymmetric wipes like Promise of Loyalty, and soft stax pieces like Fatespinner. While susceptible to targeted removal against Yennett due to low countermagic density, the sheer individual impact of its high-CMC threats provides resilient mid-to-late-game inevitability.
