Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black reanimation and attrition deck built around Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The primary strategy focuses on developing mana velocity through mana creatures, rituals, and land doublers to cast Avacyn or reanimate high-impact threats. Once Avacyn is established alongside an instant-speed sacrifice outlet like Viscera Seer, Carrion Feeder, or Ashnod's Altar, any nontoken creature sacrificed returns to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step. By sacrificing creatures during each player's turn, the deck triggers powerful enter-the-battlefield and death abilities four times per table rotation. Looping Accursed Marauder creates a total creature lock, while looping Kokusho, the Evening Star drains 20 life per turn cycle to eliminate the table on Turn 7. The list features strong internal redundancy for sacrifice outlets, draw engines, and reanimation, though it lacks direct nonland tutors and dedicated protection for its commander.
